& when you go to bed, it’s the last thing on your mind.
You are haunted by what you’ve done.

“You are a failure.

You are an adulterer.
You are an aborter.
You are a thief.
You are a murderer.
You are unloved.
You are unworthy.
You are unchanged.
You should stop trying.

You look down & you realize…
That’s true, I’m filthy.
I have tried to scrub it out.
& all I’ve done is grind it in & make it bigger.
I have not walked through this world unstained.

& what Jesus says is: “I will trade you.
